ALISTAIR PARNEL can provide tasteful background music suitable for any occasion. The repertoire caters for all tastes and can be tailored for each event. It is possible to provide music for both Wedding Ceremony and Reception. This can be in a choice of formats from solo piano, sax and backing track or the Mistral Saxophone Quartet.


Mistral. A quartet of musicians dedicated to promoting the versatility of the saxophone by confirming a uniquely varied repertoire. Much new music has been inspired and Mistral has commissioned three major works and several arrangements. In addition, two members of the ensemble have produced compositions and arrangements in order to highlight particular instrumental combinations and musical genres. Mistral was formed in 1984 and has since performed extensively throughout Britain. The 1987 they became the first British saxophone quartet to tour the United States of America. There involvement with "Live music now!" and the "Council for Music in Hospitals" includes workshops and lecture recitals in many community venues. An award from the Arts Council of Great Britain culminated in a series of concerts entitled "Tour de Sax", In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the invention of the saxophone. "Sculptures" is the second recording issued by Mistral, and the first on compact disc.
